Cycling has always been a significant part of my life. My father used to race, and I remember watching him on the local track in South Africa when I was six years old. At that time, I had no idea that I would become a professional cyclist, but I loved riding my bike. Before settling on cycling at the age of 12, I had tried my hand at various other sports. Now, after almost 28 years, I find myself reflecting on my amazing career in professional cycling.

For over 16 years, I have been a part of the World Tour and competed at the highest level alongside some of the best cyclists in the world. This experience has taught me a lot about the sport, as well as the dedication and determination required to succeed. I have a deep understanding of cycling, having gone through all ranks – from a country that isn’t well-known for cycling, to the amateur ranks in France, and finally onto the world stage.

One of the biggest highlights of my career was wearing the yellow jersey during the 2013 Tour de France and winning stage 9 in the 2019 Tour de France. RELIVE STAGE 9 HERE

I have worked hard to become a professional cyclist, and with the help of a professional coach, I was able to take my cycling to even greater heights. If there’s one thing I regret in my career, it’s not investing in a good coach earlier. I’ve learned that talent can only take you so far, and that hard work is always the key to success.

My approach after more than 25 years of experience in cycling, I have realised that every athlete is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. My coaching style revolves around listening to my athletes and understanding what motivates them. I create a safe environment where athletes can approach me with ideas and concerns. I aim to make training a motivating tool, not a source of stress. Whether you aim to win races or achieve your own goals, I am here to help you succeed.

I have been in your shoes before and can show you the ropes to help you get where you want to be. Post career it has been multifaceted, encompassing both a coaching and a pivotal role as a sports director. Leveraging my extensive experience as a professional cyclist, I channel my passion for the sport into empowering others through my coaching.

My unique blend of technical expertise and motivation makes me a sought-after mentor for cyclists of all levels, from aspiring amateurs to seasoned pros. Simultaneously, in my capacity as a sports director, I help with the strategic direction of my team Israel Premier Tech, drawing upon my successes and insights gained from years on the circuit. These dual roles underscore my commitment to nurturing talent and shaping the future of cycling, solidifying my reputation as a respected figure both on and off the road.
